General Overview
The Department of Physics and Computer Science is currently running programmes in Four (4) main broad disciplines:

Computer Science
Electronics & Telecommunication
These programmes offer technology-related courses that have attracted and benefited countless young Sierra Leoneans. They prepare students for employment in the 21st Century and meet the significant increase in demand for specialists in:

Bachelor of Science with Honours in:
- Computer Science

Subject Categories
1. WASSCE/GCE "O"-Level Candidates
The minimum admission requirement for entry into the Department are Five Credits in not more than Two Sittings in WASSCE or GCE "O"-Level. The subjects are combined into three categories for admission into First Year as follows:
a) Candidates must obtain Credit of a minimum grade of C5 in the three Category A subjects, except for English Language for which a minimum grade of C6 is required.
b) In addition to the requirements in (a) above, candidates must obtain Credit of minimum of C6 in at least one subject each from Categories B and C.
2. HD Candidates
a) Candidates with Pass at HD with minimum of C6 in English Language at WASSCE will be admitted into First Year.
b) Candidates with Credit at HD with minimum of C6 in English Language at WASSCE will be admitted into Second Year.
3. All Candidates
Candidates with the entry requirements but without the minimum C6 in English Language at WASSCE will be required to take and pass the University Matriculation English Language Exam for admission.

Subject Categories

Entry Requirements for Ordinary Diploma Programs
The minimum admission requirement for entry into the Department are Three Credits in not more than Two Sittings in WASSCE or GCE "O"-Level in the Sciences and/or Commercial areas.
